Husband and wife duo Chris Rogers and Lorna Winsor form the team behind Strata Art Studios. Rogers was born in Ontario. He graduated from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in 1986 on the Director’s List with a diploma from the Jewellery/Metals program. Rogers is a juried member of the New Brunswick Crafts Council. Winsor was born in Newfoundland. She graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 1994 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Geography.
Both Rogers and Winsor grew up in families of makers and builders. They cite their parents among their greatest influences; creativity was explored and encouraged in different media throughout their childhoods.
They work in a variety of precious metals – primarily Sterling silver – and their colourful designs feature genuine gemstones and pearls. Inspired by a love of nature, the materials they choose ‘speak’ to them in some way – be it in form, texture, or colour. Rather than follow current trends, Rogers and Winsor chart their own course with original designs in one-of-a-kind and limited editions.
Rogers is a juried member of the New Brunswick Crafts Council as well as the Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council. With nearly 45 combined years experience working in jewellery studios, they launched Strata Art Studios in 2015. They live and work in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
