Artist Statement

Since completing my first series titled ‘The Fullness Of Time’ in 2017, I am now working on a whole new series dedicated to the roots of human existence. I continue to portray myself in different perspectives but also adding in new characters and themes. Each character will demonstrate the human condition contrasting struggle and triumph. All paintings are done on large canvas’s and will have a nature themed backgrounds featuring mountains in different seasons and lighting from different times of day. Fire is the predominate subject in each piece along with utilizing various exotic animals as unique forms of symbolism.

As I continue to strive to connect the unknown with the physical realm my goal is to remind us all of our origins. From my own personal experiences I reflect what I have learned in my paintings and sculptures by telling stories for others to connect to, aiming to communicate a message of rebirth. Each painting and sculpture is based on finding your roots and what that means in both individuality and in human existence.

Each painting is done with acrylic paint on canvas and the sculptures will be carved from wood, painted with acrylic and then varnished. My main focus in every piece I create is to contrast realism with solid colours, geometric shapes, optical illusions and mirroring certain images as it adds a sense of depth and imagination to each piece.

The theme for all my paintings revolves around the revival of the human condition and the true nature of our existence. It is my desire to paint stories that will awaken those who come in contact with my work. My dreams and visions are the driving force in my art and I want those who view my paintings and sculptures to see themselves and find wisdom, understanding and truth. My work is always moving forward both as a theme and as I strive to demonstrate the abilities of inner change in human-kind.
