Paul Mathieson has joined an impressive group of New Brunswick artists, a list that stretches back to 1990, the year the Strathbutler Award came into existence. Mathieson was awarded his Strathbutler at the New Brunswick Museum on September 24, making him the 23rd New Brunswick artist to join this illustrious group.

Paul Mathieson a painter and a teacher, has been exhibiting his paintings this region s since 1981. His first solo exhibition took place at Windrush Galleries (Saint John) in 1982. His work has been exhibited throughout this region and beyond: Saint John, Halifax, Fredericton, Montreal, Boston, Tampa and in the UK. Mathieson”s work is found in numerous public and private collections, including the New Brunswick Museum, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, UNB Saint John, UNB Fredericton and the Province of New Brunswick.

Paul Mathieson has a solo exhibition of new paintings scheduled forNovember 2015 at the Buckland Merrifield Gallery in Saint John.
